Our institution follows a zero-tolerance policy towards ragging and is committed to providing a safe, secure, and inclusive learning environment for every student. Ragging in any form—whether physical, verbal, psychological, emotional, or online—is strictly prohibited within the campus, hostels, transportation facilities, and at any location associated with the institution.

The Anti-Ragging Committee functions in accordance with the guidelines issued by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and other applicable statutory and regulatory authorities. The committee actively works to prevent ragging, create awareness among students, and ensure prompt, fair, and impartial action against any reported incident.

The committee serves students across all our constituent schools, including the School of Dental Science, School of Pharmacy, School of Nursing, School of Management, School of Computer Applications, School of Industrial Training Institute (ITI), and School of Education.

Objectives

• ◉ Maintain a ragging-free, safe, and student-friendly campus.
• ◉ Create awareness about the harmful effects and legal consequences of ragging.
• ◉ Protect the dignity, safety, and well-being of every student.
• ◉ Encourage mutual respect, discipline, and healthy interaction among students.
• ◉ Provide a confidential, transparent, and effective mechanism for reporting ragging incidents.
• ◉ Foster an inclusive academic environment based on equality and respect.

What Constitutes Ragging?

Ragging includes, but is not limited to:

• ◉ Physical abuse, assault, or intimidation
• ◉ Verbal abuse, teasing, humiliation, or offensive remarks.
• ◉ Mental or psychological harassment.
• ◉ Forced participation in activities against one’s will.
• ◉ Cyberbullying or harassment through digital or social media platforms.
• ◉ Any act that causes physical, emotional, psychological, or academic distress to a student.

Roles and Responsibilities

The Anti-Ragging Committee is responsible for:

• ◉ Organizing awareness programmes, orientation sessions, and preventive initiatives.
• ◉ Receiving, investigating, and resolving complaints related to ragging.
• ◉ Taking prompt, impartial, and appropriate disciplinary action against offenders.
• ◉ Ensuring confidentiality and protection of complainants and witnesses.
• ◉ Coordinating with institutional authorities to maintain a ragging-free environment.
• ◉ Promoting a culture of respect, discipline, equality, and responsible student conduct across all constituent schools.

Reporting Ragging

Students are encouraged to report any incident or suspicion of ragging immediately to the Anti-Ragging Committee. Complaints may be submitted through the online complaint portal or by contacting the committee members directly.
All complaints are handled with strict confidentiality, and appropriate action is taken in accordance with institutional policies and applicable laws and regulations.

Disciplinary Action

Any student found involved in ragging will be subject to strict disciplinary action, which may include:

• ◉ Verbal warning or written apology.
• ◉ Suspension from classes, clinical postings, practical sessions, or hostel facilities.
• ◉ Withholding of scholarships, academic privileges, or institutional benefits.
• ◉ Debarment from examinations or other academic activities.
• ◉ Expulsion from the institution.
• ◉ Filing of legal proceedings in accordance with applicable laws and regulatory guidelines.
